Trinamool's Keshpur MLA Shiuli Saha has been tested COVID-19 positive. The MLA is currently in home isolation in Kolkata. According to sources, the driver and security guard of the MLA have also been infected with COVID-19.

Amid COVID-19 pandemic, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee went on a two-day visit to Jangmahal. On October 6, she held a meeting with the administrative officials of West Midnapore district in Kharagpur. Keshpur MLA Shiuli Saha was also present at the meeting.
According to reports, Shiuli Saha had fever a few days ago. Although, she recovered after taking medicine. Later, on October 9, the MLA underwent COVID test at AYUSH Hospital in Midnapore. The report came positive on Sunday (October 11) night.

Meanwhile, the Trinamool district leadership held a press conference in Medinipur town on October 9. After undergoing the COVID test at the hospital, MLA Shiuli Saha joined the press conference.
The people who were present at the conference got panicked after they got the news of Shiuli Saha being infected with COVID-19.
Party's district president Ajit Maiti said, “I have requested all the people who attended the conference to undergo a COVID test.”
