West Bengal Minister of State for Labour, Nirmal Maji tests positive for COVID-19. After the reports came positive on Saturday (October 17) night, he was admitted to Kolkata Medical College.  

Kolkata: West Bengal Minister of State for Labour, Nirmal Maji tests positive for COVID-19. After the reports came positive on Saturday (October 17) night, he was admitted to Kolkata Medical College.

According to hospital sources, Nirmal Maji, has multiple co-morbidities, including overweight as well as sugar. Therefore, when the minister was tested positive for COVID-19, doctors advised him to get admitted to the hospital. 

However, doctors have confirmed that Nirmal Maji’s physical condition is stable now.

Nirmal Maji was admitted to SSKM last month after he suffered a brain stroke. A CT scan was done on the minister which found subdural hematoma. However, he was recovered soon.

Incidentally, Nirmal Maji presided over the Patient Welfare Association of Calcutta Medical College on Friday (October 16). Therefore, he was taken to Calcutta Medical College for treatment. Doctors have confirmed that the physical condition of Nirmal Maji is stable.
