According to police sources, the victim's house is in Kochbihar. She was resting in her room in the police quarter after completing her duty on Sunday (September 13) night. Suddenly, the home guard comes into her room. The female police constable was being sexually harassed by the home guard.

However, the home guard denied all the allegations against him. The victim was so devastated by the incident that she tried to commit suicide. The female police constable was rescued by other policemen residing beside her quarter. The police department is shocked after getting to know about this incident. They couldn’t understand how the incident took place. There was a commotion in the district police station.

Malda Additional Superintendent of Police Hasan Mehdi Rahman said, “No written complaint has been lodged yet. A departmental investigation is underway led by DSP rank police officers. If the investigation proves the home guard guilty, strict action will be taken against him. Counseling has been arranged for the victim to reduce fatigue.”
