Week-long programme to mark PM Modi's second year in office

Synopsis

A series of events is lined up to mark the second anniversary of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to a report, PM Modi will address rallies across the country and his entire cabinet is going to appear in a televised programme along with him and cine star Amitabh Bachchan. The programme, to be telecast on Doordarshan, would be shot at the India Gate on May 28.

The live telecast from 5 pm will showcase the achievements of the NDA-run schemes. Doordarshan centres at Mumbai, Bengaluru, Vijayawada, Jaipur and Shillong will also participate in the programme.

The news report published in the Hindu says the prime minister will address a rally in Saharanpur, in western Uttar Pradesh on May 26 – the same day he had taken the oath of office two years back.

The theme song for the second anniversary is Desh Badal Raha Hai (the country is changing) and Twitter will also have the hashtag #TransformingIndia to be used by Union ministers to highlight their achievements.
