Jodhpur hospital: Watch as 2 doctors fight in operation theatre causing newborn’s death

Another case of medical negligence has to come light and this time in Jodhpur A newborn could not survive because doctors were too busy fighting in the operation room The duo were quarrelling over medical procedures followed before delivery of the baby

The medical fraternity was put to shame in Jodhpur where a child died because two doctors could not control their rage inside the operation theatre. The incident took place on Tuesday at the Umaid hospital in Jodhpur.

The video below shows how the doctors came to blows unmindful of the situation or location they were in. They were conducting a caesarean operation while unconscious pregnant woman lay there on the operating table. The doctors kept verbally abusing and threatening each other while another member of the staff recorded the incident. All in all, the team that was inside the operating theatre on that day failed a mother, her child and a patient.

An obstetrician ultimately delivered the baby at a hospital in Rajasthan but it didn't survive. The duo were quarrelling over medical procedures followed before delivery of the baby. It is reported that the quarrel was based on the feeble heartbeat of the foetus. Dr Nainwal, the obstetrician, questioned whether the patient had eaten whereas the anaesthetist, Dr Tak, asked a junior doctor carry out tests, which angered Dr Nainwal.

Republic World has reported that  AL Bhat, Principal Jodhpur said,“Both doctors have been removed immediately and disciplinary action will be taken against them.” The family of the patient who have to bear the loss are protesting against the doctors’ callous and unprofessional behaviour.  

Furthermore, Dr Ashok Nainwal has been suspended and called to Jaipur to provide clarifications on how the situation unfolded. As per sources, both doctors have been removed from their duty and an investigation committee has been constituted to investigate the matter. After the investigation, strict action is expected to be taken against the doctors.

Recently, the country has been witnessing a spate of horrific incidents related to medical negligence. The Gorakhpur hospital tragedy and in Kolar hospital where numerous infants died because the hospital did not have enough oxygen supply for their patients.
