Ayushi Singh, a woman from Ranchi, claimed to have major health problems after eating on the Vande Bharat Express train. She told X that she experienced a serious allergy and her two-year-old kid had diarrhoea after eating on the train. Singh wrote in her post that she was travelling in carriage E1 of the Vande Bharat Express train number 22500 on March 27. She encouraged authorities to "look into the matter urgently," describing the allergy as potentially fatal. To back up her allegations, she posted two photos of herself and a medical prescription from Maa Ram Pyaari Superspeciality Hospital in Ranchi.
Singh also condemned the quality of the food supplied on the train and the staff's responsiveness to her concerns. "The food aboard the Vande Bharat Express was of the worst quality, and the personnel seemed unsympathetic to concerns. This is my medical prescription for a serious allergy after eating meals at Vande Bharat 22500," she added in another post.
The woman also noticed that the water given on the train tasted different, which raised her concerns about cleanliness and safety standards.
In response, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) replied to her post stating, "Lunch on Train No. 22500 BSB-DGHR Vande Bharat Express (Coach E1) on 27.03.2026 was checked & found satisfactory. No other complaints received regarding quality, hygiene or safety of food on the day."
This incident has drawn attention to customer experiences with onboard culinary services on luxury trains. While the IRCTC claims that the meal quality on that day surpassed criteria, the woman's article illustrates a different personal experience.
The Vande Bharat Express is marketed as a contemporary and speedy train service with onboard facilities designed to bring comfort to passengers. However, this situation underlines the necessity of swiftly resolving passenger complaints and implementing consistent food safety standards.
