A video of a High Court judge strongly questioning police officers during a courtroom hearing has gone viral, drawing praise from people across social media. The case relates to a woman who was taken to a police station before sunrise along with her young child, even though she was not the main accused in the case. The judge criticised the officers for their actions and ordered the suspension of the entire police station, saying the law had not been followed.
According to details discussed during the hearing, police arrived at the woman's house at around 4:15 am while searching for her husband, who was the main accused in a case. The husband was not at home.
The woman was allegedly booked only under Section 202 of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with intentionally failing to give information about an offence despite being legally bound to do so. During the hearing, it was stated that she was not accused of the main crime and was not attempting to escape.
As she had no one to look after her toddler, she took the child with her to the police station.

During the hearing, the judge repeatedly questioned why the woman had been brought to the police station before sunrise.
He asked what urgency required officers to pick up a woman in the middle of the night, especially when she had a small child with her. He also reminded the police that the law generally does not permit women to be taken to a police station after sunset or before sunrise except in exceptional circumstances permitted by law.
The judge also questioned a woman police officer, asking how such action could be justified when a young child, who had no connection with the case, was also made to accompany the mother.
When the police failed to provide a convincing explanation, the court ordered the suspension of the entire police station. During the hearing, the Superintendent of Police apologised before the court.
The judge observed that failing to arrest the main accused could not justify taking action against women and children in violation of legal safeguards.

The courtroom exchange has been widely shared online, with many social media users praising the judge for his firm stand. Many called the order a strong message on police accountability and demanded strict action whenever legal procedures protecting women and children are ignored.
Others said the case highlighted the need for police officers to balance law enforcement with humanity and respect for legal rights.
