'Will Slit Her Throat': 12-Year-Old Girl Abducted in UP; Father Gets Chilling Video Call Threat

Synopsis

A 12-year-old girl was abducted in Uttar Pradesh's Barabanki, and the kidnappers made a WhatsApp video call to her father, threatening to slit her throat if he went to the police. The police are now investigating the call, which came from a Dubai number.

A 12-year-old girl was allegedly abducted in broad daylight while she was playing outside her home Uttar Pradesh's Barabanki district. Panic gripped after the kidnappers made a WhatsApp video call to the girl's father threatening that if he complained to the police, they would slit his daughter's throat and show it to him live on the video call.

The girl's father, Nripendra Tiwari, is a journalist by profession. In his complaint to the police, he stated that his 12-year-old daughter was playing outside their house on Friday. When she didn't come back for a while, the family started searching for her in the neighbourhood. Despite a long search, they couldn't find any trace of her. That's when the family suspected she had been kidnapped and informed the police.

'Will slit your daughter's throat if you call police'

According to the girl's father, he later received a WhatsApp video call on his mobile. The callers threatened him, saying that if the police were informed, they would murder the girl on the video call itself. The kidnappers also said they would “turn all of Haidergarh red with her blood.”

The victim's father said that during the video call, the kidnappers also tried to get information about the surroundings of his house. They asked who all were present at home and what the family members were doing. However, despite the danger, the father showed courage and filed a written complaint at the Haidergarh police station.

Family members protest outside police station

The girl's family and local residents are demanding swift action from the police. Meanwhile, some family members also staged a protest outside the police station, demanding the girl's safe and quick recovery.

WhatsApp call from a Dubai number

Haidergarh police station's Inspector Abhimanyu Mall said that the police have formed several teams to investigate. CCTV footage from around the town is being scanned to find clues about the kidnappers. The police investigation has also revealed that the WhatsApp call received by the father was made from a Dubai number. This number has now been put under surveillance.

Police say that based on technical investigation and CCTV footage, they are trying to track down the accused as soon as possible and are making every possible effort to rescue the girl safely.
