A 14-year-old boy died after he was beaten with sticks and a screwdriver inserted into his stomach as he had allegedly trespassed into his neighbour's house, police said on Monday.
"Prima facie it is a matter of eve-teasing. The victim Jishan, a fruit juice vendor, had allegedly entered the house of his neighbour surreptitiously with a wrong intention last night," Superintendent of Police (Rural) Rakesh Pandey said.
Shaukeen, Jishan's father, alleged that his neighbours Irfan, Nadeem, Naushad, Hazi Mustkeem, Waseem and Saleem, tied his son to a tree and beat him with sticks. Later, they inserted a screwdriver into his stomach leading to his death, the police officer said.
Police suspect that Jishan had eve-teased a girl in the neighbouring house.
Shaukeen alleged that he was beaten up mercilessly when he tried to save Jishan and his wife Gulshan and sons Mehtab and Gulshanavver were threatened with dire consequence when they thought that Jishan is freed, the SP said.
A FIR has been registered against the six absconding accused and the body sent for post-mortem, he said.
