B Sriramulu, who has now been given charge of the Social Welfare Department, was replaced by Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar.
Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has sacked state health minister B Sriramulu and handed over the portfolio to Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar.
Sources said the decision was taken after the Chief Minister expressed his dismay over the mismanaged handling of coronavirus in the state.
Sriramulu, meanwhile, has been given charge of the social welfare department.
Sources also indicate that the latest move could further complicate ties between Yediyurappa and Sriramulu. Sriramulu reported has already been sulking since the last 13 months after being ignored for the Deputy Chief Minister's post, which he claims had been promised to him.
