'Thank you, Gujarat': Emotional PM Modi tweets after historic mandate

PM Modi expressed his gratitude to the people of Gujarat as the BJP registered a historic win in the state assembly elections. The Prime Minister has been instrumental in the BJP victory, holding more than 30 rallies in Gujarat after the election was announced.

As the Bharatiya Janata Party achieved a historic victory in the state assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude to the people of Gujarat. He credited the BJP workers in Gujarat for the victory and lauded their hard work.

Taking to Twitter, PM Modi wrote: "Thank you Gujarat. I am overcome with a lot of emotions seeing the phenomenal election results. People blessed politics of development and at the same time expressed a desire that they want this momentum to continue at a greater pace. I bow to Gujarat’s Jan Shakti."

PM Modi further said that this historic win would never be possible without the exceptional hardwork of Karyakartas, who are the real strength of the party. "To all hardworking Gujarat BJP karyakartas, I want to say - each of you is a champion!" he added.

The BJP has achieved a record victory in Gujarat, surpassing the Congress's previous high score of 149 from 1985. Amit Shah, the party's senior strategist, set a target of 140 seats, but the party is currently in the lead with more than 150 seats.

Meanwhile, he thanked Himachal Pradesh voters for their love and support of the BJP and said his party would continue to fight to fulfil the state's dreams and elevate people's concerns in the times to come in response to the election results in the hill state where the Congress has ousted the BJP of power.

After the election was declared, the prime minister held more than 30 rallies across the state, which was crucial to the victory. At the BJP headquarters in Delhi, he will start the massive festivities this evening.
