Tamil Nadu police shot dead: Cops arrest accused

Synopsis

Two suspected assailants in the gunning down case of special sub inspector of police Wilson in Kanyakumari district last week were taken into custody by the Tamil Nadu Police in Udupi on January 14

The Tamil Nadu Police arrested the accused in the murder of an assistant sub-inspector Wilson. The accused are identified as Abdul Shameem and Thaufeeq. The duo was arrested from Karnataka's Udupi.

The accused are arrested six days after the police officer was shot dead. It is also reported that the duo is having links with a terror module.

A day ago, the police had also arrested Ijas Pasha, who distributed the gun to the accused.

According to reports, Wilson was checking vehicles along with other officers when a man alighted the vehicle and opened fire at him.

The policeman suffered three bullet injuries. Other police officers rushed the injured cop to a private hospital, but he was declared brought dead. The motive of the murder is not known yet.
