NRI tries to escape on the way to quarantine centre, caught by Kerala Police

Synopsis

 The NRI tried to escape from the ambulance by attacking the ambulance driver.  


Kochi: An NRI tried to escape from an ambulance when he was being transported to a quarantine centre.

The man who was being transported in the ambulance had returned from Dammam. According to the reports, he escaped from the ambulance by attacking the driver when they reached Aluvaa Pulinchodu traffic signal. Police were informed and they caught the NRI with the help of the ambulance driver.

The NRI was then taken to Kalamassery Medical College hospital.

Similarly, police had registered a case against another person who violated regulations on quarantine in Ernakulm's Aluva. The accused is identified as Kannur native Roy Paulose. He tried to violate quarantine by leaving the house. He had reached Ernakulam from South Africa.

After neighbours saw him driving his car in the night, they informed police about his activities. Police said that he would be sent to a quarantine centre under the district corporation.
