The Mumbai floods have left a trail of disaster in various parts of the city. As the water level goes down, one can figure out that the tragedy has not affected humans alone, but has also distressed our four-legged friends too. It is indeed heart-wrenching to see strays and lost pets seeking shelter in already dilapidated structures, shivering with cold.
Thanks to Gurudwaras and some citizens in Mumbai who have opened their houses and kitchens for these friends too. Besides them, there are organisations like PAWS, Karuna and other welfare associations joining hands in rescuing the animals. It is to be noted that the PAWS had previously helped animals in the 2005 floods too by sending supplies and in the ground work.
