NIA nabs 2 suspected terrorists in Bengaluru

The NIA claims that the duo belong to ISIS affiliate Hizb-ut-Tahrir and had formed a group called the 'Quran circle'.  

The NIA has arrested two suspected terrorists in connection with the Bengaluru-based ISIS module case. 

The accused -- Ahamed Abdul Cader and Irfan Nasir -- were produced before Special NIA Court, Bengaluru and later sent to 10-day NIA custody for interrogation.

According to the NIA, Ahmed Abdul Cader worked as a business analyst in a bank in Chennai while Irfan Nasir is a rice merchant in Bengaluru.

The NIA claims that the duo belong to the banned outfit Hizb-ut-Tahrir and had formed a group called the 'Quran circle'.

In a statement, the NIA added: "The group was being used to recruit and radicalise youth in Mumbai and funded their visit to the conflict zone in Syria to aid and assist ISIS terrorists."

The agency also informed that the accused suspects arranged funds through donations.
