Three terrorists were killed in the encounter that ended this morning

Shopian: On October 7, three terrorists were killed in a 12-hour encounter in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir. Following information about the presence of terrorists, the security forces launched a search operation at Sugan village in Zainapora.

According to reports, a search operation of the security forces turned into an encounter after terrorists opened fire on the security forces.

An official said that the three terrorists were killed in the encounter that ended this morning. He said the identity and group affiliation of the terrorists were being ascertained.

A day ago, in an encounter, the chairman of United People’s Liberation Front (UPRF) Martin Guite was killed in Assam. Assam Police said that the encounter took place in Manja area of Karbi Anglong district on October 5.

Taking to Twitter, Assam ADGP GP Singh wrote, “Late last evening, Martin Guite, SS Chairman of UPRF, an insurgent group active in Karbi Anglong, was wounded and later declared dead in exchange of fire with team of @assampolice in Manja PS area of Karbi Anglong. @DGPAssamPolice @CMOfficeassam”.
