Mild earthquake of 4.2 magnitude hits North Bengal districts, no damage reported

North Bengal was shaken by a mild earthquake on Friday (September 11) morning. Panic spread in the area due to the earthquake. Tremors were felt in several districts. The magnitude of the earthquake was 4.2 on the Richter scale.  

A large part of North Bengal was shaken by a mild earthquake on Friday (September 11) morning. Panic spread in the area due to the earthquake. People in some places were terrified by the magnitude of the earthquake.

It has been reported that the earthquake was felt in North Bengal at 9:15 in the morning. Tremors were felt in several districts. The magnitude of the earthquake was 4.2 on the Richter scale.

According to the Sikkim Regional Meteorological Department, the epicenter was reported in Nepal. Tremors were felt within 10 kilometers of the earth's surface.

The mild earthquake shook different parts of North Bengal including Siliguri. However, people in some places did not feel the tremor of the earthquake because the level of vibration was very low. The epicenter was reported below the ground; however; no tsunami alert was issued. There is no cause for damage due to low tremors.
