In one of the biggest seizures of Heroin, a container with more than 22 tonnes of licorice coated with Heroin was seized from Nhava Sheva Port in Mumbai. 

The seized contraband is reportedly worth Rs 1750 crore. The root of licorice, a herb that grows in parts of Europe and Asia, contains glycyrrhizin that can cause side effects when eaten in large amounts.

Delhi Police Special Commissioner of Police HGS Dhaliwal told media persons that the seizure indicated the scale of narco terror and different methodologies being used by the international players to push drugs into the country.
