
Guntur: A man died after he was allegedly beaten up by police for stepping out of his house. According to police, the 28-year-old man was suffering from a chronic heart ailment. Police also denied that the victim was beaten by them. Police added that the youth died after collapsing when police confronted him for venturing out of his house during lockdown.
According to local sources, Mohammed Ghouse left the house in the morning and was returning home after reportedly purchasing medicines around 8:40 am when police stopped him. While police was physically torturing Ghouse, the heart patient collapsed, sources said.
Locals rushed Ghouse to a private hospital where he was declared dead.
Action to be taken against police:
TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu condemned the police action leading to the death of Ghouse. He also demanded ex-gratia be provided to the family of the deceased. YSRCP MLA from Sattenapalli Ambati Rambabu also demanded action against police officials responsible for the death of the youngster.
