Synopsis

A woman in Karnataka was shocked after finding live worms in food she ordered from a fast-food joint 'ChicKing'. The authorities at the joint, however, refuted the allegations saying they only serve 'fresh food'

In a disgusting situation, a woman found live worms in food she ordered from a fast food joint.

The incident happened at Urwa Police limits in Ladyhill area, Mangaluru City and following this, a complaint was filed against 'ChicKing' fast-food outlet.

The woman identified as Salma Simran on Saturday made a dinner plan with family and ordered chicken and six burgers.

"We had ordered six burgers. My mother and children consumed four. Two burgers were remaining for my sister and me. When I opened the burger packet to eat, I saw a live worm. This is a matter related to health, and officials concerned should take action," she was quoted as saying.

As several attempts to raise the issue with the food joint did not yield results and she eventually filed a complaint.

ChicKing response:
Soon after the matter went viral in Mangaluru and coastal belt of Karnataka, manager of the outlet, was quoted as saying "Our chicken dishes are prepared at a temperature of 163 degree temperature. There is no chance of any live worm being found in our dishes. Food is packed only after cleaning up everything. Till date, we have not received any complaint of this sort. Still, we will give the customer fresh food and also return the money. We will speak to the customer on Sunday and resolve the issue."
