Kerala records 4 COVID-19 deaths in single day

Synopsis

Four people lost their lives due to COVID-19 in Kerala. All four deaths were reported in a single day in the state  

Kannur: Kerala reported four coronavirus (COVID-19) deaths on Wednesday (July 22). The latest victim was identified as Kannur native Sadanandan.

Sadanandan was rushed to Pariyaram medical college due to health-related ailments. He had undergone few surgeries and was also under cancer treatment.

The total number of COVID deaths reached 49 in the state.

Earlier, three COVID deaths were reported in the state. The deaths were reported from Kozhikode, Kasaragod and Kollam districts. They were identified as Kasaragod’s Khyrunnisa, Kozhikode’s Koya and Kollam native Rahiyanath.

Meanwhile, Kerala has revised its discharge policy. Asymptomatic patients will undergo antigens tests on the 10th day since the first positive result. If negative,  they will be discharged. Till now, a patient would be discharged only after 14 days.
