Kerala gold smuggling case: Main accused received ‘best employee’ certificate from UAE consulate

Thiruvananthapuram: The main accused in the Kerala gold smuggling case Swapna Suresh was awarded ‘best employee’ certificate by the UAE consulate. According to reports, with this certificate she obtained a job in the Kerala IT department.

Swapna who was terminated for financial fraud has obtained the best employee certificate from the consulate. The certificate adds that Swapna worked in the organisation from October 2016 to August 2019.

Now the question arising is how can an employee get the ‘best’ certificate from an organisation, where she had done fraud? Another question which arises is whether the certificate obtained is real or fake? The investigation team is probing.

As for her educational qualifications, Swapna had furnished the graduation certificate in B.Com from Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University in Maharashtra. However, it is also under scanner on suspicion of being fake.

Meanwhile, Swapna is still absconding. Customs officials are in search of Swapna but they haven't received any information where she is till this point of time, according to sources. They have also done search operations in her Thiruvananthapuram house for two days.
