Kerala Congress-M sides with LDF, Mani to quit Rajya Sabha post

Of the five MLAs of Kerala Congress (M), two are with the Jose K Mani faction. The lone Lok Sabha MP of the party, Thomas Chazhikadan is also with the Jose K Mani faction.
The Congress and the United Democratic Front have been left embarassed after Kerala Congress (M) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Jose K Mani announced that he was switching sides and aligning with the Left Democratic Alliance.
Mani also said that he would step down from his Rajya Sabha post which he secured with Congress help.

Addressing media persons, Mani said: UDF insluted KM Mani (his father) who stood with the Front for 38 years. I was betrayed in Pala bye-election after KM Mani's death (Mani C Kappen of LDF defeated Jose K Mani).
"The LDF government has dealt with the floods and Covid-19 threats effectively. The administration has also led the fight against communal forces," he added.
