Vijayan responded to a proposal in the state Assembly made by member Xavier Chittilappilly to establish additional courts in the southern state.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated on Tuesday that his government's goal is to build special courts to handle cases involving crimes against women and children. He addedthat the avdmindecidedot yet made a decision on the establishment of new courts. Given the current situation, he added that it is prioritised to establish special courts to hear cases involving crimes against women and children. According to the Chief Minister, the government would consider establishing more news courts once they are completed.

In other news, In a significant stride forward in ensuring the protection and security of women in the city, Bengaluru Police has assembled a squad of female policemen who would be particularly trained to deal with law and order issues affecting women and children. A team of 31 specially trained female cops will ensure the proper handling of criminal events against women in the city. The crew will also make sure that the rescued ladies receive the appropriate counselling to recover from the experience.

The Bengaluru Commissioner of Police, Kamal Pant, made the news on his Twitter account yesterday, stating that the squad will be known as 'Rani Chennamma Pade' – 'By Women, For Women, Of Women.' Pant further stated that the squad has its own set of goals and objectives, including the overall protection and security of women and children. The 'Rani Chennamma Pade' team will focus on educating and training women in basic self-defense techniques, as well as creating legal awareness about women and child-related laws such as POCSO and the NDPS Act
