On June 3, a team of Kerala Police took gangster Ravi Pujari from Bengaluru's Parappana Agrahara jail to Kochi for an investigation in connection with the case.

According to a report on The News Indian Express, an official was quoted saying, “The ATS North Kerala unit, with the permission of the court, will take Pujari in custody from Bengaluru. We decided to send him to Bengaluru as police agencies of different states require his custody. We received his custody first as documents for Pujari’s extradition in connection with the salon shooting case had been filed in 2019.”

Meanwhile, the ATS North Kerala team, which was in Kochi as part of another case in Kasaragod involving Pujari, decided to take him in custody after approaching the court concerned in the northern district.

The case is regarding the incident on December 15, 2018, when two bike-borne assailants fired from a pistol outside the beauty parlour run by actor Leena Maria Paul at Panampilly Nagar in Kochi. Pujari is the third accused in this case.

He was brought as part of the probe pertaining to the December 15, 2018 shooting case where two men allegedly hired by Ravi Pujari, fired at a beauty parlour in Panampilly Nagar in Kochi, which is run by actor Leena Maria Paul. He is accused of trying to extort money from her. No casualties were reported in the firing. However, Ravi Pujari allegedly called actor Leena Maria Paul and threatened her.
