Karnataka's Onam gift to Malayalis: KSRTC to operate special buses from Bengaluru, Mysuru to Kerala

Synopsis

With Onam, the 10-day harvest festival of Keralites commencing on August 22, Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has announced special buses to ferry Keralites from Bengaluru and Mysuru to Kerala. However, the passengers, unlike last year, will have to register in the state government portal to avail of the facility due to pandemic.    

As the festive season kicks in and neighbouring state Kerala is decked up for the 10-day harvest festival Onam, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has decided to operate special buses anticipating the need for transport.

The special buses will operate from Bengaluru and Mysuru to various places of Kerala.

As per KSRTC, the special buses will operate from Bengaluru to Kannur, Ernakulam, Kanhangad, Kasaragod, Kottayam, Kozhikode, Palghat, Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram and Vadakara and to Bengaluru from these places.

Buses will also ply from Mysuru to Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kottayam and back to Mysuru from these places.

These services will be available from August 24.

Important note:

All passengers coming from other States to Kerala shall mandatorily register in the CovidJagrathaPortal of Kerala govt: https://covid19jagratha.kerala.nic.in

Further, proof of registration shall be shown to concerned officials, otherwise, boarding will be denied.

And for passengers from Kerala to Karnataka as per Karnataka government orders, All passengers coming from other States to Karnataka shall mandatorily register in the SevaSindu Portal of Karnataka govt. https://sevasindhu.karnataka.gov.in

Failure to provide proof of registration will result in the passenger being denied entry in the bus.

All passengers must wear a face mask.

Passengers can book tickets in advance online at www.ksrtc.in or through KSRTC/Franchisee advance reservation counters for the above services.
