Karnataka legislature’s Monsoon session which began on Monday (September 21) has been cut down to 6 days from 9 days. Earlier on Monday, Chief minister BS Yediyurappa stated that the session may be cut down to 3 days
Bengaluru: The Monsoon session of the Assembly and Legislative Council is being held in the Vidhana Soudha from September 21.
However, after a discussion between the advisory council committee, the speaker, the ruling and opposition parties, the 9 days long session will only happen for 6 days now.
The session which was supposed to happen until September 30 will now happen only till September 26.
Earlier today, Chief Minister of Karnataka BS Yediyurappa addressed the media before the session began.
The CM had stated that the session may be cut down to 3 days from 9 days, as there are very few members attending the session due to COVID-19.

However, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President DK Shivakumar did not agree with the Chief Minister's statements.
The KPCC President had stated on Monday morning “Why should the session be cut down? The ruling party is trying to cut down the number of days, to cover-up their mistakes, we have more than a thousand questions to be asked today and the sessions will go on no matter what”.
