Karnataka: Woman gets pushed into a well by man she met on Instagram, rescued days later

A 22-year-old woman survived a fall into a deep well and was rescued three days after she was pushed into the well by a man who attempted to kill her in Bengaluru Rural district of Karnataka.


Bengaluru: A 22-year-old woman survived a fall into a deep well and was rescued three days after she was pushed into the well by a man who attempted to kill her in Bengaluru Rural district of Karnataka.

Police searched for the missing woman for four days and ultimately located her in the well fighting for her life.

This incident occurred in the Ranganathapura village of Devanahalli taluk of Bengaluru Rural district. The woman who was rescued from the well is Amrita.

Amrita who is married and is the mother of a child had developed a relationship with Adarsha, a man she met on Instagram without the knowledge of her husband Ashok.

Adarsha, who asked her to meet him, allegedly tried to kill her by pushing her to a 100-feet deep well on Saturday.

According to the police, Adarsh expressed his desire to marry the woman but when she rejected his proposal, he pushed the woman into the well and fled the spot around 7:30 pm.

Amrita was wailing from deep inside the well for four days. Finally, some passer-by heard the screams and informed the police about the matter.

Police and fire service personnel, who arrived at the well rescued Amrita. She is said to be in a serious condition and is admitted to the government hospital in Devanahalli. Police have taken Adarsha into custody.
