Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Saturday (May 13) said that Karnataka Election 2023 results is the victory of "Janata Janardhan". This comes as the grand old party leads in the state.
Kharge also said that all leaders worked unitedly and people have voted for "our guarantees". "Once 'High Command' sends observers, other processes will follow. All newly-elected MLAs asked to come to Bengaluru this evening. People have voted against bad administration," he added.
According to reports, the Congress workers are expected to meet at the Hilton Hotel. Party chief Mallikarjun Kharge will speak with elected MLAs alongside three observers to get their opinions on probable chief ministerial candidates. DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah are in competition for the top post.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh took to Twitter and said, "As the results firm up in Karnataka it is now certain that the Congress has won and the PM has lost. The BJP had made its election campaign a referendum on the PM and on the state getting his 'ashirwaad'."
"That has been decisively rejected! The Congress party fought these elections on LOCAL issues of livelihood and food security, price rise, farmer distress, electricity supply, joblessness, and corruption. The PM injected divisiveness and attempted polarisation. The vote in Karnataka is for an engine in Bengaluru that will combine economic growth with social harmony," he tweeted.
