In view of ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, no candidate who is COVID positive shall be denied an opportunity to appear in the online examinations (computer based), the Karnataka government said
Bengaluru: Despite the outcry against the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (CET) examination 2020, the state government has released protocols, to ensure that even COVID positive candidates are not denied a chance.
The Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) released Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the safe conduct of the CET on July 30 and July 31.
Guidelines:
· Students shall be present 2 hours before the test time
· Students/parents shall not congregate in groups
· Each class room to have only 24 students & two students in each desk
· Students should bring their own water bottles
· Special room for students from containment zones, those with cold, cough and other non COVID health issues
· More than one additional test centre should be ready in every district
· Hand sanitiser/thermal check must at the entrance of the centre
· Wearing of mask is mandatory
Candidate:
· Candidate shall inform regarding COVID-19 status to the examination authorities well in advance to make necessary special arrangements
· Candidate shall produce medical certificate from their treating physician certifying that they are fit to write the examinations
· The candidate shall provide “risk content” for taking up the examination
· Candidate shall be transported between the hospital and the examination centre by designated 108 ambulances
· Candidates shall wear N-95 mask & Hand gloves compulsorily at all times
· Candidate shall use hand sanitiser whenever required
Those officials and staff of the CET should be trained by the deputy commissioner, ZP CEO and Superintendent of Police and district health officer.
