Karnataka: 9,613 new COVID-19 positive cases on October 8

Synopsis

The state of Karnataka has recorded 9,613 new COVID-19 positive cases, 10,704 discharges and 101 deaths on October 8. The capital city Bengaluru Urban recorded 5,121 positive cases on Thursday.

Bengaluru: Karnataka has recorded 9,613 new COVID-19 positive cases in the state on October 8.

On Thursday 10,704 recoveries and 101 deaths were also reported in the state.

Presently, there are 1,17,143 active cases in the state out of the total of 6,79,356 reported cases till date.

Districts that reported a high number of COVID-19 cases are Bengaluru Urban 5,121, Tumakuru 504, Mysuru 642, Dakshina Kannada 296 and Udupi 239.

With 5,121 active cases recorded in Bengaluru Urban on Thursday, 3,335 men, 1,785 women and one transgender person had tested positive for COVID-19.

With a total of 19,59,586 tests done in Bengaluru 2,67,362 have tested positive for the virus so far.

Based on the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) report on Thursday the city has 18 containment zones, up from 16 that it has been reporting for the last few days.

Bengaluru East has reported 15% of all cases, Bengaluru South at 14%, Bommanahalli at 13%, RR Nagara and Mahadevapura at 11% each, and Dasarahalli at 4%.
