Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-Congress-Rashtriya Janata Dal government's decision to slap sedition charges against the state BJP chief Deepak Prakash has not gone down well even with its allies.
The state BJP chief was booked for sedition a day after he slammed the state government for rallying behind Bhima-Koregaon case accused Stan Swamy.
Deepak had also claimed that the Chief Minister Hemant Soren would be unseated within two months and that the next government would have a BJP chief minister.
Despite the charges against him, Deepak remains firm on his remarks.
Addressing a media conference, he said: "governments will come and go. I will remain firm on my stand."
"Anti-government stand cannot be equated with a anti-national act. Anti-government is different from anti-national. Citizen criticising the government is within his rights to do so," NCP leader Majeed Memon said.
Congress, meanwhile, remained silent on the sedition charges. Instead, the party accused it of indulging in horse-trading in Jharkhand.
