In a major crackdown on food adulteration and unsafe manufacturing practices, the Food Safety Department raided and sealed an unlicensed ice cream factory operating under highly unsanitary conditions in Indore. The action was carried out at the Siddhivinayak Ice Cream Factory following specific directives from Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to eliminate food adulteration across the state.
Indore Collector Shivam Verma stated that the district administration has launched a continuous campaign against individuals and businesses compromising public health. "As per the Chief Minister's instructions, the district administration is continuously taking action against adulterators. In this regard, this action was taken at the Siddhivinayak Ice Cream Factory," Collector Shivam Verma told reporters here on Friday.
Detailing the irregularities found during the raid, the Collector revealed that the manufacturing unit was operating completely outside the legal framework and flouting basic health guidelines. "The raid revealed that the factory lacked a valid license and was not following hygiene standards. Ice cream was being manufactured in extremely unsanitary conditions, which was unhealthy," he said.
Taking immediate punitive measures, authorities halted operations at the site. "The factory has been sealed, and materials found on site have been confiscated, and samples have been taken. Further action is underway," Verma added. (ANI)
