IIT-JEE results out! Sarvesh Mehtani from Haryana ranked all-India 1

A Panchkula resident, Sarvesh Mehtani, made his parents proud as he topped the IIT-JEE Advanced exams. Considered to be one of the toughest in the country, the results of the exams were declared on Sunday. The examination is held for admissions to all 23 IITs in the country and the Indian School of Mines in Jharkhand's Dhanbad. IIT-Madras was the organiser of the exam this year.

Sarvesh scored a whopping 339 out of 366, which included the 120 marks in Maths, 104 in Physics, and 115 in Chemistry. His rank in the JEE (Mains) was 55. A student of Bhavan Vidyalaya, he wants to pursue Computer Science engineering. Some of the other toppers in the list are Shafil Maheen N, Suraj Yadav, Saurav Yadav, Ashish Waiker, Onkar Deshpande, Rachit Bansal and Lakshay Sharma.

The toppers from the Eastern region were Debaditya Pramanik from Kolkata, who was ranked 38th. Ranmya Narayansamy, ranked who ranked 35, is the topper among girls. Among the scheduled class, Kalpit Veerwal from Udaipur ranked 109 and was declared the topper. 

Meanwhile, congratulating on Mehtani's achievement was Haryana minister Ashok Gehlot. M Venkaiah Naidu too Tweeted, congratulating the young champion. Tweeting from their personal accounts, they said:
