Hybrid terrorist, who was out kill civilian, eliminated by forces in Baramulla

The Kashmir Police on Thursday killed a terrorist who was responsible for the deaths of two Bihari labourers in Wanpoh. One terrorist was murdered as a result of alert parties' retaliation. One gun, one loaded magazine, and one Pakistani grenade were retrieved by security personnel.

"Murdered terrorist is hybrid type, identified as Javed Ahmad Wani of Kulgam district, and he supported terrorist Gulzar (who was killed on October 20) in the killing of two Bihar labourers in Wanpoh," IGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar stated. He was on a mission to assassinate a merchant in Baramulla.

Last week, security forces killed four terrorists, including two Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) commanders, who were implicated in the murder of migrant workers in Jammu and Kashmir. Two Bihar labourers were slain when terrorists barged into their Kulgam district home, bringing the total number of civilians killed in deliberate strikes in Jammu and Kashmir this month to 11. Another worker was also hurt.

The security forces launched a huge anti-terror operation to eliminate terrorists throughout the Valley. So far, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted over 61 raids in Jammu and Kashmir and apprehended many overground workers (OGWs) of terror organisations. According to authorities, 18 local terrorists have been murdered in the previous three weeks. The deaths have caused considerable concern among those working for the state in the Kashmir Valley.

Following the recent slayings of migrant labourers, authorities have invented the term "hybrid" terrorist to describe people who are not registered as terrorists in police records but are suspected of being affiliated with and involved with terrorists.
