Self-acclaimed Godman, or the Messenger of God as he calls himself, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Sigh was on August 25 convicted of rape.

His prosecutor had said that the accused godman was stunned after he heard the verdict, where he was convicted by CBI judge Jagdeep Singh. However, pictures of him sitting in a helicopter munching chocolate don't make it look like he is stunned. The public prosecutor for CBI HPS Verma had said that the Dera head remained in a state of shock for some time.

However, reports even said that he is being given special treatment in the jail and will be accompanied into the prison by his assistant.

The tension has escalated outside the CBI court as it remanded the self-appointed spiritual leader and Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh in a 15-year-old sexual exploitation case. 

Ram Rahim is the chief of the Dera Sacha Sauda, a quasi- religious group, and was accused in 2002 of sexually exploiting two female followers. He was arrested right after the conviction, and the sentencing will take place on Monday. He faces imprisonment of seven years to life imprisonment.
