Governor Jagdeep Dhankar again raises the issue of law and order situation in West Bengal

West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar once again raised the issue of law and order situation in the state. The governor tweeted on Saturday (November 21) morning by stating that neither the chief secretary of the state nor the additional chief secretary of the home department had responded to the information he had provided on the issue of violence against women in the state.  

A month ago, West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar raised the issue of law and order in the state, citing statistics on violence against women. The governor tweeted once again raising the same issue.

The governor said on Saturday (November 21) morning that neither the chief secretary of the state nor the additional chief secretary of the home department had responded to the information he had provided on the issue of violence against women in the state. The governor described the matter as "extremely unfortunate".

Jagdeep Dhankar accused the Mamata Banerjee government of not maintaining "political neutrality". He described the politicization of the police and the administration as unfortunate and detrimental to democracy.

In November, the Governor has sent a letter to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee regarding the law and order situation in the state. Earlier, he shared district-wise statistics on social media and provided detailed information on violence against women in different districts of the state. Dhankar brought up the issue again in his tweet on Saturday morning.

However, the Trinamool Congress criticized the governor for expressing such concerns over the figures. Even the Trinamool leaders claim that the governor's figures are inaccurate and politically motivated. The Trinamool party also claimed that the governor was providing false information.
