Former Supreme Court judge and ex-Karnataka Lokayukta, N Venkatachala, passed away on Wednesday (October 30) at the age of 90. Several politicians have expressed condolences over his death.

Bengaluru: Former Supreme Court judge and former Karnataka Lokayukta, N Venkatachala, on Wednesday (October 30) breathed his last at the age of 90. He is survived by his son, who is a senior advocate.

Several politicians took to Twitter to pour in condolences.

Taking to Twitter, Congress leader Siddaramaiah said, "Saddened by the demise of Former Karnataka Lokayukta & Rtd. Supreme Court Judge Shri. Venkatachala. His contribution to fight against corruption shall always be remembered. My deepest condolences to his family and friends."

 

Former Karnataka chief minister HD Kumaraswamy said, "May his soul rest in peace. May the Lord grant strength to his family and friends to endure the pain of such a loss."

 

Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa also conveyed his heartfelt condolences on Twitter.

"The death of Justice N  Venkatachala, who brought honour to the Lokayukta is an irreparable loss. He worked hard to get justice for everyone and fought for a corruption-free society," Yediyurappa said in Kannada.
