Foot bridge collapses in South Goa, dozens injured

A footbridge in Curchorem, Goa collapsed taking several pedestrians along with it into the river.

The incident occurred at 7 pm in the evening on Thursday, May 18.

The bridge called the Sanvardem Bridge had become rusted over the years. No vehicles were allowed on it and it was being used as a foot bridge for pedestrians.

While 50 people reportedly fell into the river, 10 were rescued. A few swam across the river. Rescue operations are on.
