Eleven days after farmers hit the streets against the three new farm laws, Bollywood seems to have warmed up to the ongoing protest.
Bollywood actor Priyanka Chopra voiced her support to the farmers on social media.
Responding to a post by actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh, Priyanka said: "Our farmers are India's Food Soldiers. Their fears need to be allayed. Their hopes need to be met. As a thriving democracy, we must ensure that this crises is resolved sooner than later."
Opposition unites for farmers
Opposition parties, including People's Alliance for Gupkar Declaration, CPI, CPI(M), CPI(ML), RSP, DMK, RJD, SP, All India Forward Bloc and Congress, have decided to support the 'Bharat Bandh' called by farmers on December 8.
Addressing media persons at the Singhu border, Farmer leader Baldev Singh appealed to all to participate in 'Bharat Bandh' on December 8.
"There is a need to strengthen this farmers' movement," he said.
