Delhi CM Rekha Gupta Launches 'Sahkar Se Samriddhi' Awareness Campaign for Cooperative Week 2026

Delhi CM Rekha Gupta launched the 'Sahkar Se Samriddhi' Awareness Campaign to mark Cooperative Week 2026. The week-long initiative, running until July 6, features awareness drives, seminars, tree plantation, quizzes and outreach programmes across Delhi.

The Delhi Government has launched a major week-long campaign to strengthen the cooperative movement and raise public awareness about the role of cooperative institutions in economic and social development. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated 'Sahkar Se Samriddhi: Cooperative Week 2026' at the Delhi Secretariat on Monday, June 29, marking the beginning of a series of awareness programmes, public outreach activities and community initiatives that will continue until July 6. As part of the launch, the Chief Minister flagged off a cooperative awareness van, which will travel across different parts of the national capital to educate residents about the benefits of the cooperative sector and encourage greater public participation.

The campaign commemorates five years since the establishment of the Ministry of Cooperation by the Government of India. Through the Delhi Government's Cooperation Department, the week-long initiative aims to connect more citizens with the cooperative movement while highlighting its contribution to inclusive growth, self-reliance and community development.

Week-Long Awareness Campaign Across Delhi

The Delhi Government has designed the campaign to go beyond ceremonial events by organising a wide range of public engagement programmes across the city.

Throughout Cooperative Week 2026, residents can participate in awareness drives, seminars, panel discussions, street plays, online and offline quiz competitions, tree plantation drives and several community participation programmes. The government believes these initiatives will encourage more people to understand the functioning of cooperative institutions and motivate them to become members, enabling them to achieve greater economic empowerment through the cooperative model.

Leaders Attend the Launch Event

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Cooperation Minister Ravindra Indraj Singh, Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Minister Ashish Sood, senior officials of the Cooperation Department and representatives of various cooperative institutions.

To formally launch the campaign, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta released colourful balloons and flagged off the cooperative awareness van. Street plays and public awareness programmes were also organised within the Delhi Secretariat complex as part of the inaugural celebrations.

CM Rekha Gupta Highlights Vision of 'Sahkar Se Samriddhi'

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said cooperation is not merely an economic system but also a powerful means of uniting society while promoting self-reliance and collective progress.

She said the Delhi Government is fully committed to taking Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Sahkar Se Samriddhi' (Prosperity through Cooperation) to every citizen. She also expressed confidence that a large number of people would participate in Cooperative Week and become active partners in their own economic and social development through cooperative institutions.

Government Focuses on Digital and Transparent Cooperative Institutions

Cooperation Minister Ravindra Indraj Singh said the Delhi Government is working to strengthen cooperative institutions by adopting modern technology, expanding digital services and ensuring greater transparency.

According to the minister, the objective is to make cooperative institutions more accountable, efficient and beneficial to citizens while improving service delivery and giving fresh momentum to economic prosperity through the cooperative movement.

10,000 Saplings to Be Planted Across Delhi

Environmental conservation will also be a key focus of Cooperative Week 2026.

Ravindra Indraj Singh announced that approximately 10,000 saplings will be planted across several parts of Delhi, including Narela, Dwarka and Rohini. The government believes that integrating environmental conservation with the cooperative movement will strengthen community participation and promote sustainable development.

The minister also appealed to Delhi residents to actively participate in the week-long events and help transform 'Sahkar Se Samriddhi' into a people's movement. He said the vision of a 'Developed Delhi' and 'Developed India 2047' can only be realised through collective participation and shared responsibility.

Cooperative Week to Conclude on July 6

The week-long campaign will conclude on July 6 with a special closing ceremony.

During the concluding event, the Delhi Government will honour outstanding cooperative institutions, winners of various competitions organised during the week, and individuals who have made significant contributions to the cooperative sector.

The government believes that recognising excellence within the cooperative movement will strengthen public confidence in cooperative institutions, encourage wider participation and further promote the spirit of cooperation across the national capital.
