Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal urges party leaders to raise funds for State Assembly polls by hosting tea, dinner parties

While the news of Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal urging party members to raise funds made rounds on social media, AAP leader Gopal Rai claimed that the CM would be hosting tea, lunch or dinner parties in the national capital ahead of Delhi Assembly polls

New Delhi: Delhi chief minister and Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) national convener Arvind Kejriwal urged party leaders to collect funds from the public by hosting tea, lunch or dinner parties to fight the upcoming Delhi Assembly election.

Speaking to a reporter, minister for employment, development in the Delhi government, Gopal Rai, said that the directions to hold fundraising tea, lunch or dinner parties beginning from December end were given by CM Kejriwal in a meeting held to discuss the preparations for the elections, on Tuesday.

Apart from Kejriwal, deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, MP Sanjay Singh and State Cabinet ministers among other AAP leaders would attend the fundraising meeting.

AAP is currently running a public relations campaign, which began in November and would continue till December 24, under the directions of its MLAs.

Under this campaign, AAP has been holding public outreach programs at all polling booths in Assembly constituencies across Delhi.

The party has also appointed 2,700 divisional in-charges across Delhi to the booth committees in the state to oversee the smooth functioning of the outreach programs in their region.
