Gangrape survivor raped again by the same men after three years

Synopsis

A 20-year-old Dalit student was forced to relive her worst nightmare all over again when she was raped by five men last week, who had earlier raped her in 2013. The incident took place in Rohtak where the family had shifted after the girl was raped in 2013 in Bhiwani. All the five men were arrested for assaulting her three years ago and were released on bail a couple of weeks ago.

The girl’s mother told NDTV that the men belonged to the upper caste and their families have been trying to persuade the girl for an out of court settlement ever since the criminals were put behind bars. They even offered her ₹50 lakhs to withdraw her complaint. But the girl and her family stood firm with their decision and decided to move out of Bhiwani.

However, last week, the girl saw the same men standing outside her college in a car. Two of them, who were standing outside the car, allegedly abducted her. They then drugged, raped and dumped her in some bushes to die.

The girl was found on Wednesday and is now in a government hospital undergoing treatment. She has filed a new complaint against her rapists. According to the police, they have sent a team to Bhiwani to nab the perpetrators.
