COVID-19: Doctor involved in survey of Tablighi Jamaat members dies

Synopsis

A coronavirus positive doctor who conducted survey of the members of Tablighi Jamaat in the district succumbed to the virus  

First death of a doctor due to coronavirus was reported in Uttar Pradesh on Monday. The deceased is a doctor who had conducted survey of the members of Tablighi Jamaat in the district.

On April 10, the doctor tested positive for coronavirus. With Dr Nizammuddin's demise, the total tally of the coronavirus deaths in Uttar Pradesh reached 18.

The deceased doctor was posted at Tajpur Primary Health Centre (PHC). After testing positive for the deadly virus, he was admitted to the isolation ward of Tirthankar Medical University (TMU) in the city. Later he was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on April 11 and was put on a life support system.

His condition worsened after he suffered a cardiac arrest, late on Sunday night. The doctor died on Monday morning. Dr Nizamuddin was the fourth victim of COVID-19 in Moradabad division.
