Coronavirus: Union minister Suresh Angadi succumbs to COVID-19; passes away at 65

Synopsis

Minister of state railways Suresh Angadi passed away in AIIMS Delhi on September 23. He had tested positive for the virus on September 17.  

New Delhi: Union minister of state for railways Suresh Angadi succumbed to coronavirus. The minister had tested positive for the virus on September 17.

He had tweeted, "I have tested #Covid19 positive today. I am doing fine".

"Taking the advice of doctors. Requesting all those who have come in close contact with me in the last few days to monitor their health and get tested in case of any symptoms," he had added.

The minister was 65 years old.

Angadi is the second parliament member to have succumbed to coronavirus from Karnataka.

BJP MP Ashok Gasti, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP in Rajya Sabha, died due to multiple organ failure on September 18.

Ashok Gasti was suffering from Covid-19 and had been admitted to Manipal Hospital in Bengaluru.

The 55-year-old leader was diagnosed with severe Covid-19 pneumonia on September 2 and had been admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru.
