Chennai: Tamil Nadu government has allowed the students of 10, 11 and 12 to visit schools on a voluntary basis for taking guidance from teachers from October 1. To this, the government has issued a set of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the students.
The students who will visit the school will have to bring written consent from their parents or guardians. Schools will allow these students to enter the premises after getting consent. However, the students of the containment zones are not allowed to visit the schools anyhow. The online or distance learning classes shall be continued for all students.

Education minister KA Sengottaiyan has also hinted that there would not be any phased reopening in schools across Tamil Nadu and would be opened simultaneously once the pandemic situation is under the control of the state.
Many schools in Assam, Mizoram, Nagaland and Meghalaya have partially opened, with students from Class 9 to 12 allowed to visit school to clarify their doubts.
The schools resumed functioning, as the Centre gave the green signal to reopen schools from September 21 as part of Unlock 4 guidelines.
