Coronavirus: Number of recoveries exceeds 3,000 in single day; 55 deaths reported in West Bengal

With an increase in the recovery rate, more than 3,000 patients were recovered from COVID-19 in West Bengal. According to a bulletin from the state health department, in the last 24 hours, more than 83% of COVID patients in the state have recovered and returned home from the hospital.

According to a bulletin from the state health department, in the last 24 hours, more than 83% of COVID patients in the state have recovered and returned home from the hospital.

The state health bulletin on Tuesday (September 1) stated that 2,943 people were infected with COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. On Monday (August 31), it was 2,993. In all, the number of active cases in the state is now 1,65,721. In the last 24 hours, 3,346 people have recovered. On Monday (August 31), it was 3,318.

So far, 1,37,616 people have recovered in the state and the recovery rate has risen to 83.04%. According to statistics, 55 people have died in the state due to coronavirus in a single day. On Monday (August 31), the number was 52. In all, 3,283 people have died to COVID-19 in the state so far.

Meanwhile, in the fourth phase of unlocking, many services in the state are being resumed. Metro service will start services in the state from September 8, 2020. Metro services will be available from 8 am to 8 pm. On Tuesday (September 1), a meeting was held regarding the metro services in the state.

In the meeting, it was decided that the metro services will work without tokens. Presently, those who have a smart card will get the opportunity to travel in the metro. However, one does not have to recharge the smart card by standing in a line. The smart card can be recharged through Metro app. Metro service will be closed on every Sunday.

The Kolkata Metro services that were stalled for nearly six months due to ongoing pandemic, will resume operations from the beginning of the fourth phase of unlock. Several infrastructural changes have been made to further improve metro service during the long lockdown. The people of the state will get the benefits of this improved metro services in the upcoming days.
