Coronavirus: Karnataka health minister’s mother dies after recovering from COVID-19

Sriramulu's mother Honnuramma tested positive for coronavirus a week ago and was admitted to the Government Bowring Hospital.  

Bengaluru: Karnataka health minister B Sriramulu's mother died a day after she recovered from coronavirus.

Sriramulu in a tweet said that his 95-year-old mother passed away on Thursday night due to age related issues. He added that his mother had completely recovered from coronavirus and just returned home from Bowring Hospital in Bengaluru.

Chief minister BS Yediyurappa, medical education minister Dr K Sudhakar and many other ministers condoled the death of Honnuramma.

On August 9, Sriramulu, health minister of Karnataka, tested positive for coronavirus. The minister took to Twitter to announce the news.

"I have had the opportunity to visit the 30 districts and work with the government's desire to treat people well. It is in this backdrop that I am going to be hospitalised and treated," he said in Kannada in a series of tweets.

"All those who have been in contact with me recently have been requested to take precautionary measures," he said.
