Only the US, Brazil, Russia and the UK are ahead of India, in that order.

On Monday, malls, restaurants, hotels and places of worship opened across the country, albeit with SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) in place, more than two months after these were shut as part of the nationwide COVID-19 lockdown, which has been in effect since March 25.

In kicking off what is called Unlock-1.0 phase of restoring normalcy post-COVID-19 though religious places have been reopened, large gatherings or congregations continue to remain prohibited even as all the establishments have been asked to adhere to strict social distancing norms.
