Coronavirus in Karnataka: 3 people suspected to have contracted infection in Bidar

Synopsis

Though Karnataka chief minister Yediyurappa had claimed that coronavirus has not yet crept into the state and all precautionary measures have been taken, three people are suspected to have contracted the virus

A person from Bidar has been admitted at Bidar Institute of Medical Science and Teaching Hospital and is suspected to have contracted coronavirus. This comes after Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa claimed that no case of coronavirus was reported.

Another person recently returned from Qatar and has a runny nose, mild fever, cough, and other symptoms of coronavirus. After consulting health experts, the person has been admitted to Bidar Institute of Medical Science and Teaching Hospital yesterday (March 4)

The Bidar resident who arrived via Qatar travelled from Norway and showed symptoms of coronavirus upon arrival. Believing that this was not the time to take any chances, he was soon admitted to hospital.

Reportedly, another 14-year-old boy was also admitted and put in the isolation ward for a suspected case of coronavirus. According to reports, he is a relative of the person who travelled from Norway.

Doctors have taken blood and sputum samples for further tests
